generate leads, B2B marketingWhat is your content marketing team doing? Are they churning out content that is centered around your products and services? Or are they pulling out all the stops and being helpful by generating educative and informative content? Well, to be frank, we can’t say that a sudden change in your pace is going to make whatever your content marketing team puts out more interesting to everyone. However, once you shift what type of content you put out, then you can perhaps at least generate more leads and increase your followers.

When you’re down in the dumps and can’t seem to generate some feedback from your followers, or leads from what material you put up, then here are some tips for how you can make your content more “interesting” to your readers:

Be less product-centered – We can’t avoid talking about our products and services. Of course, we’re trying to sell something here! We can’t be ignoring what we’re about and not promote our brand. However, in order to produce content that won’t bore your readers, you need to be less product-centered and promotional; you need to rise above it and move your team’s tasks to creating content that would be more beneficial to your readers and followers, and not just something that talks about what you offer to them.

Be helpful – What are you offering? Depending on what THAT is, you need to center your content around it. Rather than being promotional, you should create content that is beneficial to the people you target. If you’re a software company, create content that helps people solve problems. Create write-ups that focus on “how to do this” and “how to do that”, or even “the ultimate guide to software thingamajigger”. To people who are looking for such content, then content like this is “interesting”. Of course, they need answers, and luckily, based on your expertise, you can provide the information they need.

Let go of the business jargon; write as you speak – Not everyone who reads your blog posts or articles can understand what the heck you’re talking about. That being said, dispense with the formalities! Well, maybe not all the time, but surely you should start learning how to produce content that doesn’t have readers switching between tabs on their browsers just so they can have a quick look at the dictionary. Make your content easy to understand, make it give a clear message, and most of all, make it sound like it comes from people who know what they are doing and can talk about it simplistically like they were born to market!

If you make use of a lot of content when it comes to B2B telemarketing, then these tips will surely aid your efforts. So it’s time to get cracking and get to churning “interesting” content out like a farm maid would butter! Remember though: 1.) be less product-centered, 2.) be helpful to your readers by providing the content they want to read, and 3.) write like you are talking. Keep these tips in mind and you may just see an increase in the leads you get from your content, and the number of followers you get.
